چکیده

An attractor Λ for a 3-vector field X is singular-hyperbolic if all its singularities are hyperbolic and it is partially hyperbolic with volume expanding central direction. We prove that C singularhyperbolic attractors, for some α > 0, always have zero volume, thus extending an analogous result for uniformly hyperbolic attractors. The same result holds for a class of higher dimensional singular attractors. Moreover, we prove that if Λ is a singular-hyperbolic attractor for X then either it has zero volume or X is an Anosov flow. We also present examples of C singular-hyperbolic attractors with positive volume. In addition, we show that C generically we have volume zero for C robust classes of singular-hyperbolic attractors.

5 M ar 2 00 3 Transitivity and homoclinic classes for singular - hyperbolic systems

A singular hyperbolic set is a partially hyperbolic set with singularities (all hyper-bolic) and volume expanding central direction [MPP1]. We study connected, singular-hyperbolic, attracting sets with dense closed orbits and only one singularity. These sets are shown to be transitive for most C r flows in the Baire's second category sence. In general these sets are shown to be either transitiv...

Interval fractional integrodifferential equations without singular kernel by fixed point in partially ordered sets

This work is devoted to the study of global solution for initial value problem of interval fractional integrodifferential equations involving Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative without singular kernel admitting only the existence of a lower solution or an upper solution. Our method is based on fixed point in partially ordered sets. In this study, we guaranty the existence of special kind of ...

Topological dimension of singular - hyperbolic attractors

An attractor is a transitive set of a flow to which all positive orbit close to it converges. An attractor is singular-hyperbolic if it has singularities (all hyperbolic) and is partially hyperbolic with volume expanding central direction [16]. The geometric Lorenz attractor [6] is an example of a singular-hyperbolic attractor with topological dimension ≥ 2. We shall prove that all singular-hyp...

Existence of Periodic Orbits for Singular-hyperbolic Sets

It is well known that on every compact 3-manifold there is a C flow displaying a singular-hyperbolic isolated set which has no periodic orbits [BDV], [M1]. By contrast, in this paper we prove that every singular-hyperbolic attracting set of a C flow on a compact 3manifold has a periodic orbit. 2000 Math. Subj. Class. Primary: 37D30; Secondary: 37D45.

Cat(0) and Cat(−1) Fillings of Hyperbolic Manifolds

We give new examples of hyperbolic and relatively hyperbolic groups of cohomological dimension d for all d ≥ 4 (see Theorem 2.13). These examples result from applying CAT(0)/CAT(−1) filling constructions (based on singular doubly warped products) to finite volume hyperbolic manifolds with toral cusps. The groups obtained have a number of interesting properties, which are established by analyzin...
